LEGO Bears Take on the First Lego League Challenge! 🤖🏆

Lego Bears: AISZ Robotics Team

This past weekend, our AISZ Robotics Team – the LEGO Bears – traveled to Buzet, Istria, to compete in the First Lego League (FLL) regional competition, organized by the Croatian Robotics Association. Competing against 17 teams from Croatia, our students showcased months of dedication and problem-solving skills.

The FLL competition consists of four key elements: Core Values, Robot Design, Robot Game, and Innovation Project. Since September, our Robotics ASA Club has been hard at work preparing for this year’s theme, ‘Submerged’, which focuses on solutions for seas and oceans. Our team took on the issue of invasive algae, a growing threat to marine ecosystems worldwide, presenting their innovative ideas to judges.

Alongside their project, the LEGO Bears designed, built, and programmed their own robot, Gregory V, to take on various challenges. While competition day brought unexpected twists, our students displayed resilience, teamwork, and problem-solving under pressure.

Now, we eagerly await the final results to see if our LEGO Bears will advance to the Croatian National FLL competition in Zagreb on March 8. Stay tuned – and wish us luck! 🤞

A huge thank you to our dedicated Robotics Club mentors!

We are incredibly proud of our LEGO Bears for their innovation, perseverance, and team spirit! 🐻💙
