The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a volunteer-based group of parents and teachers who work together throughout the school year on numerous activities and events to enrich student learning, support local organization and bring the school community together. The PTA consists of 6 Elected Executive Committee Members, President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, MS/HS Representative, and the ES Representative. Non-voting members of the Executive Committee are AISZ Director, ES Teacher Representative, and MS/HS Teacher Representative. The body of the PTA consists of all Parents or Guardians, Teachers and Staff at AISZ.

The PTA organizes fundraisers to generate funds to support of extra curricular activities, educational equipment and materials during the school year that are not in the budget. Our largest fundraiser is the annual AISZ PTA Spring Dance/Auction. We hope that you can come and support our event, through individual and family donations and in attendance. The money raised from this event gives the PTA the ability to support the following for AISZ and the Community.

  • Projectors
  • Netbooks – for the Pilot Program in 2008
  • Elmos – document cameras
  • Atomic clocks

PTA serves AISZ through the following categories:


  • New Family Orientation
  • Welcome Picnic –brings community together, showcases international community
  • Bingo Night-a fun family activity, showcasing community spirit
  • Plants in the courtyard

AISZ, Student Learning and Activities

  • Funds Two Passport Days
  • ES/MS/HS Student Council Funds
  • Purchase additional iPADS and covers
  • Supporting holiday events; Halloween candy and pumpkin parade
  • Financially supports a meal for all competitive CEESA events hosted at AISZ, such as Knowledge Bowl, Math Counts, Tennis and Cross Country
  • Financially support a meal for all Sports Friendly Tournament events with neighboring Countries within the CEESA organization
  • Supporting student initiatives for Service Learning Projects; Thanksgiving Soup Kitchen Meal for families in need at a local church in Kaptol
  • Bike racks for students
  • Supports the 2nd and 3rd Grade Endangered Species Club
  • Help support the AISZ publication of "Our Global Villiage"
  • Support the MS/HS Girls Basketball Team in a fundraiser for the Dona Breast Cancer Center of Zagreb
  • Those "little extras" that have not been budgeted for by school, to make it a nicer place

Local Support

  • Bingo Night; Funding for HUOPP Search and Rescue Organization; shows commitment to support of local charities in need
  • Service Learning; Thanksgiving Lunch prepared and served to people in need at Pučka Kuhinja Sv. Franjo Asiški na Kaptolu.
