The PTA Spring Dance is this coming Saturday night and promises to be a wonderful event for all parents and adults. If you have ordered your tickets and not yet paid, please do so ASAP and if you have not yet booked your ticket please do so as we can get final numbers. I encourage as many people as possible to attend this night. Money raised from the auctions will assist the school's service learning program and a Maker's Space for the Lower School which will augment our learning opportunities specifically in the terms of design and construction for our younger grades.
Central & Eastern European Schools Association (CEESA) Regional Conference
Over the weekend CEESA held its annual regional conference, this year in the beautiful city of Prague. Over 450 delegates were in attendance with expert speakers and workshops available over the course of the weekend. This year's conference was focused upon "Empowering Learners". AISZ had the honor to be selected to deliver 4 workshops over the weekend.
I shared the journey our school has made over the last year from the Community Summit up until the viewing of the film Most Likely to Succeed. During this workshop we focused on the changes that have taken place here at AISZ to modernise the curriculum structure to best meet the needs of students today. Dr. Lavina, and students Angelina Tomac, Pauline Calcoen and Louis Kappler presented their insights into student agency in education and what the changes to the AISZ curriculum structure has meant to them personally. The students were tremendous ambassadors for our school and we were all very proud of them. Mrs. Adrianne Marcich, Mr. Dino Rosenzweig and Mr. Dino Bajagilovic presented the Grade 6 -10 Challenge by Choice Mathematics Program and Ms. Jenny Lathrop presented strategies to other teachers about how to to change teaching strategies to really engage and put students at the centre of the learning.
We are proud to be a part of the CEESA region and proud of all our presenters

This is a great opportunity for our students to develop and consolidate their political and debating skills in an authentic environment based on the actual workings of the United Nations.
