We loaded Santa's Sleighs (two large vans), and filled them full of gifts for the children and young mother’s at the home. We headed to the orphanage after school on Tuesday, December 5.
We were greeted by a sincerely grateful staff and the smiles and cheers of all the young children who awaited our arrival. CAS and NHS students as well as several 10th graders took part in the holiday excursion. Our student elves read Christmas stories to their young charges, shared candies and treats with them, and even played games with them on the outdoor balcony that serves as a playground. All of us had a wonderful time – and there were smiles and tears when it was time to leave as our students came to understand the true meaning of Christmas and how truly blessed we all are to have good homes and loving families and an amazing school to help us pursue our dreams. Every child at the orphanage will receive a gift of a new toy on Christmas morning from our AISZ elves.
We would like to thank our whole AISZ school family for your heartfelt generosity and for supporting both CAS and NHS in this community service project.
